What is the consensuses on running black pipe for an air compressor to trap moisture pre separator?
I want to make mine tight and concise due to small wall area.
I have done searches but there seems to be no rational and maybe there is no wrong or right way.
    Here are a few pictures.
Each pipe is 4' long and the top pipe which runs to the right is 8' or 10'.
The second picture has a separator an hose.
I tilted the pipes (not level) to aid water to run to the bottom pipe which has a valve.
There are two drain valves. 1. Near the shop hand brush, lowest point 2. Look at the second picture right before the separator. sssssssssss.jpg s2.jpg s2.jpg
Give me ideas of what need to change.
How many feet of pipe should I run?
What size pipe should I run?
I'm not interested in the plastic or copper stuff.
I have no money in the current ugly set up. I like a clean look

With 30 feet of 1/2" pipe ending with a coalescing filter and the end PLUS another drain, I think you're fine. I run a compressor in shop "A" with probably 60 feet of 3/8" hose (15" hangs overhead OUTSIDE between the two shops) and another 25 feet at least in shop "B".

Using industrial air grinders ALL DAY in "B" I dont get anything worse than frost on the handle of the tools. About the only thing you could do to improve what youve got is to install a PALL TRINITY desiccant air drier. $$$ Do you really need that quality of air?
