Maybe I shouldn't have just scrapped this ? :Do No: We could've strapped it to the hood of the Buick.

I think the 150 # could be added to the Buicks by putting the port holes back on the front fenders. Let's see 150/2.2# each is.......Wow, that's a lot of portholes. Maybe better to put some air horns on top of the fenders, visors over the windshield and side windows, chrome eyelids on the headlamps, Detroiter wrap around bumper guards, the big honkers off the 55 Buick grilles, curb feelers, bubble skirts, and don't forget the 57 Dodge flipper wheel covers. That should even it up!

    Tom/Brian:

Maybe we could run the local program after this shootout.

    Casey:

You should have also got a pic of that Yooper cap from Rick's duallie on the back of your sheeny truck. That would make a great album. I see what you mean about not taking the W31 to Martin "Studebaker" style. Maybe Stefina's roll back truck?

Only one car  You can't judge something as important as this on the performance of just One Hemi and One Buick!!!! Look at the last time this was attemped one car had Headers the other car the wrong ???

I am proposing a North East Hemi vs Stage 1 Shoot Out. 2 Dates, 6 Cars 1 or 2 Pure Stock and 1 or2 F.A.S.T Best Two out Three, Pro Tree Run Off.

May- Hemmings Muscle Palooza Lebanon NY
September- Hemmings Muscle Palooza Lebanon NY

And LOADS of Magazine and Video Coverage.

I will organize it. Let me know what you guys think

Whoa.. .slow down partner, :error: I'm not proposing ANY Hemi versus Buick race at Englishtown! If YOU want to set it up & get annoying emails and disgruntled forum comments directed at you until May 27th at Musclepalooza go right ahead. I look at this as fun, and I agree with you one race does not a legend make, but your preaching to a serious choir here.

I personally don't care who wins. Because as you implied it means nothing. Adding more cars and making it an official result will only stroke the flame war even more.....no thanks. There are plenty of other cool cars that are just as fast, what about them??

Besides there will be a couple of Buick Stage 1 cars already running in Factory Stock class at E-Town anyway this year, so bring out a few stock Hemi examples and we'll run em' like everybody else.

Hey Gonzo, Come on Whats the big deal? Only six more cars you have the eqquip. needed to keep everyone honest. And that slug you picked up will be looking at my cuda's taillights!!!!

69 Runner, no cashing in just want to bring the fun close to home. :3gears:

  18. Buick and Hemi

Does any one know who owns the cars at present time that raced back in 1987 at the Shoot Out at the Bend. That was the race between the GS Buick and 68 Black Hemi Road Runner. The owner of the Runner was Brian Thomas and the GS was Bob Linquist (sorry Bob if I got your name all wrong).I pulled out that old Video and watched the Muscle Car Review Shoot Out from 1987 from start to end, sure are a lot of memories stirred up while watching those races.
