    Hey all,

I brought home a 1969 Buick Gran Sport 350 yesterday. She’s got a 4 speed with bench seats and a 350. She needs some work but what an awesome car! Unfortunately the motor is not original and is a Chevrolet 350. Unsure on it’s specs but it certainly has a larger then stock cam by the sound. It’s been sitting so it needs to be tuned. The body and floors need some work. I was told the 4 speed and Posi rear are original to the car. The VIN decoded as a GS350 built in MO. Don’t mind all the parts and stuff in it, that’s how it came and after a 9 hour round trip towing it I didn’t have the energy to clean it out. The large part in the front seat is a new bumper. I did get these quick picks though. It runs and drives fairly well for sitting for so long. My kids got a kick out of it!

Nice car to start with, lotsa potential there. I'd sell the Chevy powerplant and drop a 455 in it's place. But it ain't my car...you do what works for you....

That’s actually what I was thinking about doing. I just worry about the rear end. I need to get under there and see if I can figure out if it’s an 8.2, what gears are in there and also which Muncie is under there. I can’t even imagine driving a BBB with a 4 speed it would be incredible!

Very cool beater. I would drive the sh!t out of that thing. Beat it till it blows up and put a 455 in there! Them honda guys won't know what happened.

Here’s some pictures of the code on the tranny. Looks like it’s a B code M21. The rear is an 8.2 , no idea on gears. All I can find on the rear is the number 2. Possibly a 6 in front of it but that’s a guess. It has a set of OESpectrums and sone flowmasters.

Looks like the rear gears are a 3.42 and confirmed Posi Rear. I jacked the rear up today and spun the tire one revolution and marked the driveshaft while noting how many revolutions it made. Almost 3.5 and from the codes I found online 3.42 was an option in 69. If the gears are original anyway.

    Update,

The previous owner brought me the original numbers matching 350 Monday! When I bought the car he told me he would bring it to me and did so. I bought a 1970 455 to put in it but now have the original 350 in the garage! Excuse the fact that it’s currently sitting on a tire. The flywheel bolts were stuck on and had to be soaked and now hurricane Dorian is upon us so no time to get it on a stand.

welcome......GREAT find! damn I wish I could find a car like this. Having the original motor and being a manual car, I would put it back as close to original, red line tires and all. I can already see it done," in my head"
