I would do a low cost refresh of the 350 and put some Alum heads on there!

I’m having a hard time deciding what to do at the moment. It took several months for the previous owner to deliver the original engine, the car had a running Chevy 350 in it when purchased. I was getting worried he wouldn’t bring the original engine but he was an honest guy and did so, just took a little bit of time. In the mean time I bought a low mileage 1970 455 i was going to put in it. I’m torn between doing the 350 or the 455. I’ve always wanted a big block 4 speed car but a complete numbers matching car is awesome too. Either way the 350 will end up back in there at some point down the road.

Thank you! I wish I could find more information about the original color etc. The plate along the firewall is gone unfortunately. I’m hoping there may be something under the rear seat. The numbers on the Buick 350 match up to my cars VIN so I know the Buick 350 is definitely the original engine at least. I’ve git a lot of paperwork in the glove box going back to the 70s so I may try and contact some of the older owners to get more information about the car.

check under the seats, maybe you get lucky and find a build sheet. You know if you get that lucky and find it and can decipher it, you'll have to put her back to original, it's just meant to be! Also if you pull a door panel off, most likely the original color might be on the back of that door.

That’s a great idea I’ll Check behind the door panels! So far what I know is it’s an original GS350 4 speed (M21) with a bench seat, black interior, 3.42 Posi rear end and factory air conditioning.
