As a pilot, I cannot help but comment that if you want to make a tower totally disappear in the haze, paint it white and international orange. I would normally see the black cables before I saw the tower. I wish they would paint the damn things black.

Spending 21 years on Air Force cargo planes as a crew member I am still leary of heights and would not climb up like that.

I thought climbing telephone poles was bad enough. That is a whole new level of no-thanks.

Those kind of jobs shouldn’t pay by the hour. It should be by the elevation first, then by the hour.

This is about as high as I go now, really isn't much need to go higher where I work. Have been much higher, painted Columbo Yogurts giant tanks, about 70'. Also painted the BP tower off of rt213 in Methuen Ma. several times, bout 150'.
Used to be fearless, not so much no more.

I'm just glad to see they have their safety helmets on so they don't get a head injury on the fall down!

So the guy is double hooking all the way up which is good. I noticed his hard hat didn’t have a chin strap. It technically should have a chin strap when climbing, so it won’t fall off and hit someone below him.
