I have a tilt/telescopic column from a 66 fleetwood brougham that is getting modified to fit into my 67 Riviera. Too bad Buick didn't offer it in the first place. Later, Randy
It is strange that you could get a telescoping column on a '65 Chevrolet, but not a Buick. Buick didn't offer up a telescoping column until 1974. My '74 LeSabre ragtop is equipped with one. Buick borrowed the column from Cadillac. Buick even used the '71-'73 Cadillac steering wheel with a Buick emblem on the horn pad.Cadillac used a different style horn pad for '74-'76
That old Mopar looks like it might be an HO. I never knew they made one until I saw one in Kansas one day traveling to a job. Went into the Resturant and found the guys who owned it and he showed me. My first time ever seeing a driving car w/ a Hemi. Bad to the bone.
Many years ago I had a 64 Olds Dynamic 88 that had tilt telescopic steering. Sold it to a demo derby guy. Who knew back then.
Ron I think your right about that Mopar. It looks like it was an HO car at one point. If you look closely at the center of the hood you'll see the rare gilled lumps painted white. What a shame, looks rust free and it would be a great project car... maybe a HEMI. Hope it gets saved. Mike
I stopped by two yards on the way back into town on Sunday, one of them has a few rows of old stuff. There is a Centurion in the middle of one row, and someone had cleaned up the area on the engine block where the code is put in, "F" no stage 1 heads there I guess.
