    I sure have Briz.

If the small one is plugged up you will feel it feeling very hot to hold it. Your compressor will have a stressed sound to it. Usually you can smell the excessive heat. The air from your condenser will also be hotter than norm. If they feel the same then there is no issue with 2 filter dri. If you can hear refrighrant flowing into your evap. Your not really hearing refrigerant . its gas and your undercharged. Its typical for a 410a system to not be charged correctly. It took me a time or two to get it rite myself. No short cuts or rule of thumb. Follow the charging graph in the literature or on inside control pannel cover.

  3. there will always be a need for techs and that is the most stable place in the HVAC industry. even when the market goes mainly ductless splits. an HVAC tech is nearly a recession proof career, when the economy is good construction is booming and there are controls to install and setup, new equipment startups and commissioning, when the economy goes bad people tend to repair rather than replace equipment. I've been a commercial tech for nearly 30 years and never laid off once. right now on the west coast good experienced techs are very difficult to find and employers are paying big hiring bonuses and fabulous wage and benefit packages to attract techs. ion my area where the median income is about 50k per year a good non union tech is pulling in 90-100k per year.

1976 is not an old house! yah, I know, in Florida it is, but over the years the bride and I have owned five houses, and the one we own now is the only one newer then 1976. The quality of construction has not improved over the years.

Old houses have strong bones and weak skin/ insulation.
New homes have weak bones and good insulation

  7. thats odd, my home is newer and has 2x6 walls, heavier insulation and stronger trusses. oh yeah more posts and pilings than older homes..

  9. yup, right now a 1600 sq ft 3/2 ranch on a decent lot is 300k in my town and 500k in pdx with smaller lot. same thing happening in Idaho right now as well.. seems property values are climbing about 8-10k a month

Depends what you consider old. My 120yr old house with stone foundation and made with old mature hardwood is pretty sturdy. New houses made with soft pine in most cases. Yeah, wall insulation not so great....

We had a 100 yr old house down south and we had to pre drill a hole to drive a nail into any of the studs. behind the plaster and lath there was 0 insulation. In the winter the wind would blow through the outlets like a fan was in there.

  12. oh lord I hated having to mount a thermostat or run a stat wire in a house that had plaster and lath.

There is always overtime if u want it. Own your own self and work it rite you can do very well. Ca is fu--cked up. Any city you do a job in yoy need a business licence. That only tbe begining of it.

Florida is highly regulated in the construction industry also. Nearly every trade is required to have state and local license + ins out the butt

Ah yes, the insurance. It's enough to make you second guess what you are doing. I'm in business 20 yrs, no claims and the expense is nuts.
