Hood Scoopes

    Wanting to find out if anyone knows the correct color combination for the hood scoops on a 71' GS are they painted the body color only or are the bottoms facing the engine compartment painted semi-flat black.

    do u mean the scoop area as u see it if the grills were removed ?
    if so then the scoop area & the bent/stamped area are body colour, or what u see is body colour. underneath the hood is of course semi-gloss black.

    Thanks for replying Gerry,

    The piece i'm talking about is the large fiberglass one that the plastic grill sits into. I will attach a picture of what mine look like right now from the engine compartment (look at the upper RH side of the picture) maybe that will help. Right now the entire piece is body color (burnished cinnemon)

    All the cars I have seen are bare natural ABS with body color overspray. I think you're fine the way they are. they are not black on the bottom, except for the 72 cars which had black overspray as the scoops were black regardless of body color (most cars, always some exceptions).
