i want to remove the ac, at least the compressor and the big rubber/metal hoses as i have already eliminated it off the pulley system and don't really need it around here. anyways how do i go about this and where do i start. the big box up by the fire wall isn't a huge issue but if it can easily be taken out that'd be cool too. :beers2:

Well to do it correct you should bring it to a shop and have them vacuum the system out. Once they have done that it's easy, just unbolt everything and take it off. Or you can just drain the system yourself by cutting the hoses (or unbolting the hoses) but you are not legelly suppose to do that.

At some point if you change your altenator you can go to a single grove pully.

There are AC block off plates made, these are the skylark ones

But if you poke around in OPG sight for your LaSabre you may find one

The same thing with the condenser (in front of the radiator) you can just unbolt that and take that off.

    Good Luck :TU:

Take it apart nice-like and sell it to someone who would like a factory air setup, don't hack it up. If your system has leaked all the R-12 out, fine, but you really should have it collected and recycled, if it is still in there and you can stand the cost.

Not if you put on one of those AC delete plates on.

I agree with SteeveeDee take the stuff off with out hacking it up and recoup some money by adding it to the "Parts For Sale" section.

With OPG for that I would call them, I think they have just added the bigger cars to their line up so that maybe why they don't have the web part of it up yet.

OPG is "out of stock" a lot also so again I would call and talk to someone to find the correct parts you need.

    Good Luck :TU:

I'm pretty sure there are no aftermarket AC delete boxes for the big cars. You could try to find a factory non-AC box, but you will have to weld a hole shut in the firewall because it won't completely cover the opening from the AC. Why not just leave the factory box there and just gut it?
