I called a local shop today to inquire on pricing to have my disc brake backing plates chromed, they wanted $150 to start. is this right for just two backing plates??

Doesn't sound too far off base. I was going to have mine replated since the plate is 30yrs old. But since it's just mildly pitted from road wear and it cleaned up okay with compound, I decided to reuse what I had. Besides, if I replated everything that was chromed, I'd never get those TA heads!

Backing plates are supposed to have a galvanized finish.
