i have a edelbrock performer 850 q-jet but have never run it so i want to use the 1407 750cfm ed carb that is on my buick 350 right now to break-in the cam. The carb is as-new as far as jetting goes as i have never tuned it. it runs a little rich on the 350 so i'm hoping that it will be ok on the 455. The 455 is 10:1, 225-235 cam, headers, stage 1 heads with mild porting, HEI distributor. any help you can give on if i need to change any settings or jets to run it for 30 minutes before switching to the q-jet. thanks

Just do the basic adjustments,,,, set the choke to where the back side of the plate is 1/8 of a inch from the carb body when the carb is stone cold,,, make sure the secondary's are closed,,, and then GENTLY take the idle screws to the bottom and then back our 1.5 turns.... then set the primary side where you want it.... on the fast idle cam or what ever....
