    Hi All,

I need to replace the blower motor on my 68 skylark with a manual AC system. I know what the manual
says i.e., remove fender and skirt as an assy, disconnect the hood hinge, loosen or remove bumper, remove the
ac lines etc etc ad nauseum. Anyone know of any shortcuts? Can the fender be separated from the skirt and
    lifted off by itself?

Alternatively, has anyone cut an access hole in the inner fender (skirt)? I understand that was an accepted
practice and that GM even had a repair kit for the procedure but lacking a template to cut the hole, I'd be
reluctiant to start hacking away at a perfectly good front fender skirt.

    Thanks

He means for you to click on the thread he posted, and look at post #7. I myself have had to replace the heater core twice. I've taken the hood, fender and inner fender well off to do it.

Korrie-note that the link renders a "404 File Not Found" error.

YiKES!! Just went through the whole thread on replacing the heater core as
suggested. Lots of great tips in there. Re. my issue w/the blower motor, what
I got out of all that was it was the lesser of two evils to just make a cut-out in
the inner fender to get at the blower's mounting bolts and either make a complete
cutout then flange it put it back in with sealer and screws (for latter removal if
necessary) or make a 300 degree cut, fold it back then fold it back in and seal it
off. Before I commit to that, however, will make the rounds of a couple of friendly
custom body shops here in town to see if the body work pros have devised a
shortcut to easily get in there without dismantling half the right side of the car.

    Thanks guys
