We live and show our LeSabre in several small towns in a 30 mile radis of Flint Mi. Fint Mi is home to Buick and but many know were built in a lot of plants in other states.

So we always hear I may have worked on your car I worked for Buick in Flint.

I have the orginal window sticker for the car displayed on the easel. Very top line says assembled in Kanas city, I think the Fairfax plant but not sure if GM had another plant there or not.

Other than that is is a Michigan car, Ordered December 18th 1984 at Belford Buick Davison Mi. Delivered to PO Feb 2nd 1985. other than a few trips to Missouri, Flordia on Vacation has never been out of Michigan.

Belford Buick was sold to Jim Waldron who sold the old building and property and moved the dealer ship south of town to the old Case tractor dealer shop building. Recently Jim Waldron Sold the dealer shop to Tod Wensel who remodeled the building.

Last fall at the Davison Mi last cruise of the summer we met the sales man who knew the car and had wrote up the Option 1 order (GM employes discount form.) and asked if we had some of the things that came with the car. A leather folder that held the owners manual and other stuff that came with new cars in 1985, Leather kep fobs with collectors edition stamped on the pair.
Told us he had some and would put the package together and give it to us and took our phone number. He came thru with all those things and more, Like thr Belford plate on our easel, the LeSabre plate on the car, ariel picture of thre Belford dealer ship and lot full of cars.

To bad he didn't have a picture of the lady who the car belonged to reciveing it but did of her Husband taking deliverery of the 92 Park Ave. the 1998 Park Ave. and the 2004 Park Ave they bought thru him.

There were several more things Buick LeSabre in the 2 inch thick folder he gave to us also..

I would love to have a decal for the top of the windshild saying Built in Fairfax KA if it was indeed built there.

Can any one shed Light on the Fairfax build? Or other GM Ka plant.

    thanks

I looked online and didn’t see an answer so I’ll ask here; sorry for the highjack. Do you know how rare your car is? I imagine coupes were a lot less common than sedans, then yours being designer paint too. Have you found any production figures? It is beautiful, by the way.

My research found 27,000 coupes built. No engine break down either for the 3 options. It was ordered with two tone paint same orginal color as picture. My under standing is they all came with two tone paint unless you ordered a vynal top.
I have seen 2 four door model cars, both had 2 tone paint.

I sent a inquire note to UAW Local 31 that covers the Fairfax assembly plant.

They may be down for thr independence day 2 week vacation shut down, so a reply may be slow coming.

Really starting to think I will just get a 2 inch graph done, Built in KC to add across top of Wind sheild.

I'm sure you worked with a bunch of my family. Had cousins uncles and grand parents that worked at Buick City.
