It should've had a matching spare chrome 15x7 wheel & G60-15 tire. Of course we've learned that anything is possible and in this case the only thing indicative but not conclusive would be if the 14" wheel had the correct date code for the car then it's possible that a factory mistake was made. Nicely optioned car and great colors. What cond. is it in?
It’s a rust free dry car.....couldn’t pass up the opportunity. It has a couple scrapes in paint to deal with, then it will be a nice driver......maybe a low number 2 car. As far as the spare, it has the round cover, the vinyl bag that covers the spare. I will post a pic of trunk, spare tire etc when I’m back from vacation. How do I tell production date on spare rim? Thanks
I may be wrong here. it has been awhile since I checked wheel codes. I think u will have to remove the tire from the wheel . I believe the codes are on the rim inside on the drop centre. I never heard of a separate bag for the spare tire. There is an aftermarket cover u can purchase to cover the backside of the wheel & the tread + back sidewall of the tire.
Our year Buicks all came with 5 matching tires/rims............................unless the car was originally equipped with a space saver spare. It's usually easy to figure that out as they had special pieces that held them down. Other then that all 5 matched. The other thing is it should have a round pressed board covering the top of the wheel, and not a vinyl cover. The rim date codes are on the back side of the rim, where the tire weights would attach.
