From what I've seen, it is that nice. I've only seen it cruise by on the other side of the road, but its definitely shiny and straight in those glances. If I hadn't bought my '60 before this Merc went up for sale, it'd be parked next to the Mustang. It's nothing I've ever been looking for, but a lot of times something just strikes me as "right". I end up with most my cars that way.
I like the 55; it's cool. The hotrod, well, not so much, I've seen too many of them. I have to say though, the older I get the more I'm willing to shift off my bias towards Ford products and actually entertain owning one. I'm looking at a 59 Thunderturd right now, it's a really cool car. Sad thing is though, in order to get it, I have to get rid of one of my Buicks; not enough garage space.
That 55 Merc has the same Dodge Lancer hubcaps I had on my 56 Ford Victoria. That was a big thing back then.

That one looks super nice too. I'd definitely want the y block over the flathead. Looking at them in a lighter color makes me wish they had skirts on them.
