I have a 1975 Buick 350 V8 which was originally blue and later painted red. Somewhere on this forum I read that this was the only year of blue for that engine. I kinda' want to return it to its original color but am not sure if 'GM blue' is what I need. Can't find from suppliers Buick blue for that year, only 'GM blue.' Will that be correct?
    thanks

Any idea where to find a metallic blue paint that would withstand engine heat?

I guess the better question I should be asking is, "Would the Pontiac Metallic Blue" engine enamel which is available on amazon, be close enough to correct? Actually I am not a purist but merely want to do it as close to original as possible.

thanks again, lane in mt. hermon

Actually, AMC metallic blue engine enamel looks to be the closest. I painted my '75 Skyhawk's engine with an over the counter spray touch up paint and it has held up well for around 10 years. I'll look for the color I used and post back.

Here's the spray bomb paint I used: I used Dupli-Color spray can paint called Bright Aqua Metallic with item number DSGM 440.
