i have a 70 wildcat and I recently perchased a right hand side mirror, it did not come with the bracket or gasket, does anyone know where I can get them? Or can someone send me pictures of what they look like?

The gasket mounts the mirror on an angle to match your door or maybe a Bonneville or Old etc. I think unless the mirror has the Buick Tri-shield logo on it the passenger units were generic. I bought a set of correct GS mirrors for mine; it had Camaro mirrors when I got it. Notice the wedge gasket mount. Some mirrors mount with studs and nuts, these slip onto a bracket bolted on the door with the mirror mounting screw pulling the whole mirror back against the bracket to keep it tight. Search around the forum for picks on the install or check out Georges "How To" blog. VERY INFORMATIVE!! ws

Is the mirror on the wildcat the same as a Skylark?

Mirrors on big cars are slightly larger and thicker on the 'surround' front to back.

Can you explain what you mean by that?

It's a mirror for a 70 wildcat, i do not have the mirror yet, got it online, its chrome with tri shield and the whole head of the mirror moves to adjust, not just the mirror itself

The metal area surrounding the mirror glass is about 1/8 to 1/4 longer in length on the sides than it is on the GS version. Also, there is a drainage hole in the bottom below the glass. I thought there was a reference on George's site, but can't find it .http://buickperformanceclub.com/

Just an update, I was unable to get the mirror I wanted, does anyone know what other year mirrors fit on a 70 that is not as rare as the trishield? I was the highest bidder on a mirror on eBay, but couldn't meet the reserve of the seller, I can't afford it and he's just going to put it back on his car

This will help you I.D. the mirrors you need.
I also saw in another post about You needing sheet metal for your 70 COUPE. The 70 in the yard that I looked at was a 4 door VERY early production (body number 00003, build date 08A). The engine went several years ago to another member in the Carolina's Club; Trans gone as well. Open (not posi) rear, 2 series gears.
