Is this possible?

    Here are a few pics of my truck hood. You could do the same, only use paint that's the same color as your base coat with a little pearl or metallic added. The results will be very faint but still visible in the right light. Metallic would be more visible than pearl. Just keep in mind that it's real easy to add too much color or give it too many coats. It only takes a small amount of color change to show up.

    The flames on my truck hood can pretty much be seen day or night, but on the GSX hood they pretty much disappear.

    We used pearl for the "ghost flames" on the black Camaro pictured above.

    Not the black & purple striped one, the one with ghost flames, yes
    We fabbed up a cover for the blower and painted the car complete.
