Hey all- Where is the best place to put jackstands in the back when working on diff gears. On the frame where it would go for a lift? the body has lowering springs so Id prefer to have the body up in the air so the rear end lowers so I can work on it easier and chocks in the front.

Does that sounds good. Just confirming- safety first :)

Anytime Iā€™m working on the rear I put the jack stands just in front of the lower control arm mount, at the front. There is a wider, basically flat area of frame that sits nicely on a jack stand.
If you go just in front of the control arm mount then the rear will be able to hang just as you say.
If your concerned about leaving marks on the frame you can use a 2ā€ X 6ā€ piece of wood or a piece of carpet in between the frame and the jack.
    Good Luck!!
