I drove this car throughout college in the early 90s. Then a new job, wife, kids, and life happened. I let it sit for 15+ years. I did build a few others in that time, but neglected this one. I had an opportunity to have a few months off of work and to focus on it so I decided to get it back on the road. I forgot how much I LOVE to drive this car. I started to put this car back together in April of this year. I got it back on the road 3 weeks ago. Made its' debut at the Early Iron car show in Alamosa, CO over Labor day. It didn't win anything, but I received many compliments on the car. BTW - GREAT car show if you ever get the opportunity to participate in it. As I drove it today I had a lady pratically drive off the road trying to snap pics of it while she was driving. I know it is just another GS painted like a GSX, but it is MY black and yellow GS and I am seriously enjoying it. It is funny....I also have a 72 convertible, but in driving this one I realized I don't really enjoy driving my convertible! The convertible is a 4 sp. The convertible is exceptionally more rare. I just can't drive it or park it somewhere without worrying about it. I have none of those concerns with my 72 HT. I just get in it and go. Enjoying every minute of it...........I have sold 4 of my other Buicks in the last few years and had the intention of selling this one.....but I am keeping it for awhile.....or longer Added some before and after pics.....
Nice, I also have a '72 HT I'm working on and I like the GSX look too. I may mess with the paint though to keep the purists off my back.
Thx all. I have named the car Krusty. I drove this car to my job in college located on road construction job sites. Years of mud and clay still remained when I tackled this - I removed POUNDS of 20 year old mud! Still some crusted on and stuck in nooks and cracks......hence the name......and it has stuck BTW- did my first smokey slide sideways burnout last week.........nothin like it

I've read about the Jeep box. Awesome looking car but did the Jeep sb make the steering feel more modern?
Yes, made the steering feel more stiff and much more modern. I thought I did an entire write up on the conversion....but can't find it. Here are a couple useful links I used. http://classicoldsmobile.com/forums/...ap-w-pics.html http://lee-powersteering.com/rebuild-misc.htm
