Had a '74 with a 454 4spd. ALL numbers matching, even the tires I liked it. It's now being restored, somewhere out west?
Just over a year ago I saw one around Rockford IL. at a place that sold trailers from a house on a main road I think it was heading south out of Loves Park. It was a 454 4spd silver and red. It was the owners car that he bought new. I was nice but need some rust repair. I would what one is worth all original?
no idea what it would be wortho No: Mine was all and every bit original, even the polyglass tires were. The original owner took them off as soon as he got the car, saved them, and put on a aftermarket wheels/tires. It was white with the reddish maroon (sp?) stripes. I think they only made 7or 9 with 4sp's.
This should bring back memories. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Chev...200075009583QQihZ010QQitemZ200075009583QQrdZ1
Found these while going through some old magazines. Who woulda' thunk there'd be a big demand for "spy photos" for the '73 Chevelles....p
I wonder what they'd have looked like in 72 without the 5-mph bumpers. I found pictures on the web of a 73 Lemans whose owner had ditched the 5-mph hardware and set the bumpers snug against the body. It looked great. Here they are. I love the 73 Chevelle, especially the SS, but I don't like the swivel buckets. My dad had them in a 76 Cutlass and I sat so high on them that my head brushed the headliner. If my butt was too wide for them as a teenage, I shudder to think what they'd be like now.
I pulled the bumpers in on my car 1". Originally I just gutted the bumper "shock tubes" and rewelded them; ultimately I have 1/4" x 2" aluminum straps holding the bumpers on (fiberglass front bumper). K
Guys, let me start by telling you how I like this Buick site even more. Need to tell my story. As maybe you guys are getting to know. I sold my 69 chevelle in december and was going to pocket the money for new baby and family, but there was the Buick GS that was on Ebay in New York that I had to buy, so much for that plan. Since, I may have some engine issues but we will see. Anyway the other part of my story is I have always liked the mid 70's chevelles I have no idea why (Maybe cause I was born in 73). I bought a 75 malibu classic this past summer with 25,000 original miles for 4,800. My wifed was pissed with a baby on the way but you know how it is being a car guy. It has the corvette rallys and all. Well my buddies thought I was CRAZY in December for selling my SS 396. The most shocking thing is when I take the 75 out to lowes or to run errands, people love it. People open there windows to yell hey buddy what year is that, it is hellarious. Anyway I like having the 70 GS and 75 Malibu, they are two very different cars from that 396. What are the odds you guys would be talking about it??? I too do not know the best way to post pictures, but will try maybe later today.
Yep. Owned it since new - my Dad ordered it for my Mom to drive. It's actually a Police package; that's why it is a base Malibu (rather than a Laguna). K
that's the one i want but it need to be the 73 model with the round tail lights and the rear window in a (D) shape. Anybody no where one is like that?
Plus, it's a Mailbu Classic, not a Laguna. There's a red `73 Malibu on eBay with the windows and taillights you want but not the Laguna nose. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Chev...190080514162QQihZ009QQitemZ190080514162QQrdZ1 There's also a red `73 SS 350. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Chev...280080548083QQihZ018QQitemZ280080548083QQrdZ1 And another Malibu. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Chev...330086387675QQihZ014QQitemZ330086387675QQrdZ1 Maybe we have a board member in California who could check out that green `73 Laguna I gave you the lead on?
it's a 75, but hey..... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1975...13QQihZ005QQcategoryZ6164QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem :3gears:
