Time to replace the tires on the 68 LeSabre. I like the look of a narrow white wall tire on this model. So far I have found: Multi-mile Matrix Cooper Trendsetter SE Hankook Optimo H724 Mastercraft A/S IV Eldorado Golden Fury GFT Any ones I should stay away from? Any recommendations? These would be 235-75-15 radials. A quick search on the board looks like most posts on WW tires were from 2014. Thanks - Bill PS - the kids are "almost" out of HS...
Hate to dig up an old thread, but I'm curious on which tires you purchased and how you like them. Thanks
I have bought Hankook ww and are happy with their ride and looks except for rust stains, that so far are hard to remove. Looks like they were set on a rusty steel rack.
As for the hankook optimo 724. I bought a set a year or so ago for a big 90 cadillac brougham and could not grow to like them. Fine on dry pavement but as soon as we got a drizzle my rear slipped everytime i feathered the gas. If i was on an incline at a stop light... Good luck if i could get the car going at all. They suck on wet pavement. I also dont like how narrow the tread looks. They just have a tall narrow look to them compared to others ive ran, and ive ran whites my whole life as all i drive for dailys are old cadillacs. They seem to wear fast as well. I dunno, for me they just dont do it. My 79 Eldorado has a set of firestones which are way better in my opinion. They grip nice in all weather. Tread pattern is kinda odd looking but a nice tire and great wear. Ive always had good luck with coopers on my other cars so i may try them after these hankooks wear out. I put the car away for the winter and will get the tires as soon as school is out. Thanks for the comments!:Comp: - Bill
