Do anyone know of a good company/website for finding good quality performance parts for a 401 Nailhead?
Talk to Tom on here (telriv is his name on the site), nailheadbuick.com, and ta performance has parts.
I was told that EELCO is kind of back in business? They offered a fair amount for the nails but nothing internal that I can recall. PAW is where I got my master rebuild kit back in '97.....Talk to Tom. He can get you what you need.
What are you trying to do? There are aftermarket parts than can be altered to work in a N/H engine. Like BBC rods can be altered to work, would require having rods narrowed about .023" and crank turned down from 2.250" to 2.20", can even offset grind to pick up a few cubes! There are also Nissan aftermarket rods that can be narrowed and the crank stroked even more to use in the N/H. The Nissan rods com with a couple different rod journal sizes for different stroking options, 2.086" and 1.850" diameters. With the 2.086" sized rods you can go from a 3.640" stroke to a 3.800" stroke! The 1.850" size may be a bit much for a big block type engine but can get around 4.030" stroke if someone wanted to be greedy. Also, a big block Mopar crank can be ground to fit in a N/H block if you don't want to mess around with stroking a factory crank. The trouble with adding a bunch of cubes to a N/H engine though is its really hard to get the air in and the exhaust out of it would need for the extra cubes. But torque would be through the roof though!! Contact Tom(telriv) for your piston needs. What else would you want for your Nail? Derek
