I am trying to find any information on the original mounting specs for a stage 2 hood scoop (dimensions especially). I know these are extremely rare and I would like to install a scoop as per the originals. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Bill

Did you ever get your hoop scoop installed? I have just put one on, if you still need info. Ken

    scoop install

I mounted my stg 2 scoop 12" from the rear of the hood edge. Side to side measures 19' from each side. This location lets air travel around the inside of scoop so air can also reach rear of air cleaner. I made a plate 1/8 alluminum to sit on top of the Holley carb. It extends out ward far enough to put a 2" circular piece of foam around edge of plate. When the hood is closed the carb can only breath from the outside air. Besides running better the motor has cooled a lot in temp. Used KN filter 3" and also top plate is KN. Hope this helps you. Ken

    Hi Guys,

Thanks for the info. I have taken the plunge on cutting the hood in the pentagon shape as the originals were supposed to be. Now comes the task of mounting and creating an air box. Too bad there aren't more of the originals around. Maybe I am being to fussy? :Do No:
