Back on August 21st my 60 yr old Aunt went into a difficult surgery to repair a damaged aorta from high blood pressure. Her heart stopped as the doc was closing her chest back up, he tore it back open and massaged it back to life briefly but she was out for too long. She ended up 85% brain dead and on life support, sadly she passed away during the eclipse right in front of us all. Then, in late October my 57yr old mother who was diagnosed with lung cancer just earlier this year ends up being told by the docs that they have done all they can to help and her best option would be to live out the rest of her days as comfortable as possible, unfortunately she passed away at home sleeping on the couch November 8th... My little sisters Birthday, who was there to find her. Just today I find out my good friends father has passed away from an unexpected heart attack last night. Needless to say our holidays have been in shambles and it's been very difficult for everyone to deal with this. Especially during the holiday season. I'm doing my best to be there for my 5 younger siblings and try to keep our heads high. Hearing about my friends dad today is breaking my heart all over again. I thought the universe was done sh*tting on our family this year. I'm just looking for a little positive thoughts, prayers, or just good vibes for my family and friends. They could use the strength right now. I worry about them and hate to see everyone in such low spirits right now. Take care and thank you

I can't really begin to understand your pain, or explain the things that have happened in your life. I'm sorry to hear of your loss. It's a tough time of year for people to respond to this post. You can see others on the board that are going through difficult times, so you should not fear that you are alone, or have been singled out. In time...your heart and faith will heal. Everybody goes through difficult periods in their lives. It's through those most difficult periods of time you gain wisdom and draw on your strengths. Things will get better in time....

I second what mrolds said. The Lord doesn’t give you more than you can handle; it’s the hard times that show you how strong you really are. Take a deep breath, look at the stars a while, and know that you are not alone and you have the strength to keep going.

    Can't imagine the pain.

My boss just had both sisters die 12 hours apart; buried one Thursday and one Friday. Can't imagine his pain either.

You are in my prayers Matt...

I could not have said it better than mrolds69 and pbr400. They are absolutely right, and we all face trials and tribulations. When I've been at my lowest points, that's when God shows up and guides me through. Hang in there and draw strength from the Lord.

    Praying for you!

So sorry for your trials Matt. I know this is late coming, but our only hope is in the LORD. Jesus said “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” John 16:33 To Doug's point, the strength of God in us is made perfect in our weakness. I could not imagine going through what you have and rely on my own strength. Thanks for reaching out.
