Smokey15 So old that I use AARP bolts.

..........for a very good painter/bodyman to do a stock silver/black stripe paint job and cut the filler out of where the outer wheelhouse joins the quarter panel. Years ago, I had new quarters put on my '69 RS Z/28 and the guy thought he was doing me a favor by angle-filling on top of the quarter lip where the outer wheelhouse joins it so nothing would accumulate there. I had it painted and told the "custom painter" (ever paint on weed?") to take that out. He not only didn't, he got the decklid stripes crooked! So, now, after leaving the car in the corner of our shop for years, I want to locate someone who actually will listen and put a nice paint job on.
We are in the Grand Rapids MI area.

I got a friend in Davison,MI who may be interested. I also have a friend in Saginaw who may be a potential candidate. Both of them have recently sold some of their finished cars to Vanguard and Southern Motors. Do you have the motor for that?

Thank Yo. Yes, I have the 302 and 4-speed. I did make a call to a guy who came highly recommended. Going to talk to a few to see what kind of responses and ideas I get.
One of my best friends lives in Davison. Another in Clio.

No doubt....just give up on it and raffle it off on here...lol. Those Z/28's with RS option aren't worth messing with. If you think we could spot repair it you might talk me into helping you with it. I just don't want any overalls in my future. Is it base/clear and decent,or does it need a total?

It needs a total repaint. And thanks guys for offering to rid me of that undesirable old car. But, I've owned it since 1973 so it's got sortofmental value.
Car is an odd one: Cortez Silver, Black Stripes, Dark Blue standard interior, Center console with gauges, Headlamp washers, Endura Bumper, Rear Bumper guards, and it originally had a flat hood.
I had a friend from CarStar Customs stop and check it out today. Waiting for estimate.

Definitely a keeper...I have seen very few RS Z's out there. A friend of mine sold one back on the late 80's that was mint and correct for $7000. We thought the guy was nuts for paying that kind of money after it was advertised for several months. They started getting a little more crazy in the 90's,but you could not buy the same car back now for ten times the selling price then. Any RS optioned 67-9 is cool, but a RS Z is another story. I like that silver/blue combo also. That has to be a rarity in itself.
