Beautiful car, and love the early 70's MA tags, those are harder to come by then most states as back then MA always made you return your tags when you were issued new ones.

Thank you! I've had that plate sitting on the shelf for about 10 years. I just needed something to put it on.

I like the look of the YOM plates on these older cars. It's a nice, subtle little accessory, if you will and you're right - they are scarce but can be found with some digging. This was an eBay purchase way back when and I found one for a friend at a swap meet last year.

I guess I feel like antique tags are kind of duplicitous - I mean, it's obvious the car is an antique, so why not make the effort to find a YOM? They both fall under the same guidelines in terms of registering and insuring.

Then again, that's just my opinion. That an a couple bucks will get me a cup of coffee.

Dreaming of warm weather as I wake up to 8 degrees in Taunton.

    Love your car, Brett.

My diplomat stage 4 speed car came with WGs, but in the spring it'll get the correct WD coded 15" steel wheels and dog dish caps.

Thanks! I do as well. :D

I was psyched to find out the car was originally ordered with this wheel combo but in 14 inch with Firestone Wide Ovals.

    Have I seen yours??

If you attended the GS nationals in 2016, you might have seen it in the swap meet area. It's a bit on the rough side, but I drive it a good bit. Has a black vinyl top and blue bucket seats. No A/c, no power steering, and manual drum brakes. Pretty bare bones, and it's a workout to drive.

Car deserves a restoration, but I don't wanna take it apart just yet.

I've yet to attend the Nationals. It's on the list, though.

Sounds like it was ordered for all business. I like the low option idea. Aside from power steering and buckets, mine is similar and I've actually gotten used to the drum brakes.

No power steering must be fun. :(

Yup, this car surprisingly stops pretty good. Steering is another story.

I've gotten used to it and have also learned to leave PLENTY of space between myself and other cars.

    Thanks, Jim!

It's too much fun not to enjoy and bringing it back to how it would have looked in its early years has been both a blast and a good learning experience.

    Stay tuned....

Just got the chance to read the article on my phone (corporate laptop blocked it). Man, that's a good article and sums up what it means to own, drive, and enjoy these cars. The car just seems to look better with every new picture you post.

Great article, says the guy who finds cars for people all over the country. :>)

Although, being a car guy, I must admit that I found the ad for the Cadillac Lounge on page 61 to be almost as exciting. ;)
