Lower profile tires, What are you running?

For some reason I'm finding it difficult to make a tire selection for my 68 with 18" rims on all four corners. Each brand sure does market their product well in the description. Reviews are good and bad for each brand (of course) but most of them are for owners of newer cars.
Looking for some "real" world experience on running lower profile performance tires on our cars without a high dollar pro touring suspension.

My current Falken FK452 is a discontinued tire now. These tires were on the cheaper side however, for the first two summers they were a pretty good overall tire that worked well but started to decline in the past couple years.

I'm not looking at putting the most expensive tire on my twenty footer. So far I came up with these as possibilities for performance summer tires:

    Nitto NT555 G2

    BFGoodrich g-Force Sport Comp 2

Anybody running either of these tires?

If not, what lower profile tires are you running with on your 17"-19" rims?

No tubs or frame narrowing. Trimmed the outer fender lips. 1/4" offset, 6.25" backspace. It's very tight with the 295 tire

With an 18 x 10 you will have no worries on fitment, can be 0 or 1/4" offset

255/40-18 on the front on an 18x8 wheel, 275/40 rear on a 9” wheel. I’m going to step back to a 245 up front for a little more room. The 255 is great but it’s just too big to get good suspension movement.

    19x8,5 front with 225/40 and 19x10 back with 275/30.. Both are ET0..
The inner rim is blacked out now, so only the alloy outer ring is showing..

I run the Nitto 555 G2 in the fronts 255-40-18 on 9" wheel and 305-40-18 NittoR drag radial on a 10' wheel. So far I like them. Have yet driven on wet roads, I'm sure that will happen soon here in Fl.

How did you fit that 305 in the wheelwell?

They are trimmed a little but I could fit bigger with more back spacing. I'm at 5.7" and wish I would of gone to at least a 6"
