    Hi Guys,

I haven't lowered a car before and I am trying to receive some input before I start. My car is a 71 skylark (350, w/o AC, TA Intake, 17inch wheels, Exhaust manifold). The car is a weekend cruiser that may get taken to the drag strip a couple times a year. I am mostly concerned with the stance and not having the suspension be to hard. After reading most of the lowering posting on here I want to do a 2" drop. The springs I am looking at are "BMR SP031". It is a linear 520 pounds per inch in the front and a progressive 125-200 lb/in in the rear. What shocks should I use for a 2" drop? Do I have to change ball joints or will the stock ones hold up with the lower center of gravity? Is there anything else I should know about the lowering process?

    Thanks, Nick

Here is my advice......call Mark at SC&C. Tell him what you want and he will walk you through your options. He is very knowledgable and will help you make the best decision for your goals. He spent close to 1 hour with me helping me work through my various options.

Your ball joints should be fine, but you may want to look at tall ball joints to improve your geometry and get your desired drop.

Shocks.....all depends on budget and desire adjustability.
