When I checked a few years ago, none of the major US manufacturers still offered main bearings for the Nailhead.:Do No:
Tom T or Russ Martin can get you bearings, but I don't know what brand they are. No-name bearings are avail on eBay, about $150 a set.
Rod bearings for a 455 fit the Nailhead...
    Cam bearings available from Durabond.

    Update (already!)
Sealed Power has them listed, and they're available from several sources.
Standard size is pn 4265M or Z4265M
Prices range from $200 from Summit and Northern auto to $260-$280 from stores like Rockauto, Advance, and NAPA.
    Damn, they're expensive!!

I just did a Google search for Clevite 77 bearings and found the Mahle-Clevite website. According to the website there's still an available part number for the bearigns and a location finder that lists who in your area sells them. Summit came up as one vendor and their ad states "364 - 455" for the part number they came up with for my search for a 1965 Riviera.

TA Performance's catalog lists main bearings for the 401 and 425. The catalog indicates Clevite 77 "when ever available". I sent them a message earlier today asking for the brand of bearing they sell for the nailhead, as I am interested for my build as well

keep me posted on what they say. It is so much to rebuild these motors we might as well spend a little more and get the best parts available instead of just putting in what they give us in a kit.

    Thanks Paul

Spoke to TA and was told main bearings are Clevite 77. I will be ordering a set shortly and will confirm once I have set in hand. For those who might be wondering, rod bearings are Clevite 77; rings are Hastings; and cam bearings are a TA's own brand

Nice to know they're making them again!
Just did a Google search.....pn is MS664P for std size.
Only got a couple of hits:
    $168 from Enginepartsstore
    $198 from Rockauto
$240 from Jegs..... and Jegs will price match.:TU:

If you haven't already found the main bearings, you might try this link: http://centervilleautorepair.com/. I rebult my 401 with all of the parts coming from the gentleman that owns Centerville Auto Repair in Grass Valley, CA. His name is Russ; he is quite an expert.

As a follow up to my previous post, I received my order from TA today. It was held up by the timing set.

The main bearings I received were Michigan Engine Bearings (D.A.B Industries) - the box actually looks as old as my Buick.

In addition, the rod bearings were Clevite 77, the cam bearings were Durabond and the rings were Hastings

Are you interested in some N.O.S. U.S.A. made --either
    TRW or Federal Mogul. ??????
I might have them --- I would have to check.... The price would certainly be better than anything you have seen, if
    I have them....

    If interested, call me --- Craig --- 516 - 485 - 1935.....
