When my car sits for a period of time my back reservoir for brakes is either empty or low. I did some trouble shooting on it last week when I was home to find out where it was leaking at as I had some help to check all the brake lines. I found out where it was leaking at, didn't take that long. Started at the source, the Master Cylinder is leaking at the back near the firewall. I am thinking that one of the seals has gone out. Does anyone have any other ideas before I order a rebuild kit?

Generally, it is cheaper to buy a new or rebuilt than it is to rebuild one yourself unless you have all the tools.

I put A remanufactured manual master cylinder on my car last spring, I think it was $24 plus my old one.I thought that was very reasonable ,plus the one I received had the same part number as the original .

I've had terrible luck with the remans. Literally everyone I've installed has leaked. I only buy new now.
