I'm in the planning stages of dropping a 69 Buick 430 in my 1980 Regal. I noticed March Performance has a kit for them ( http://marchperf.com/styletrack_buick.html ) and emailed asking them if there would be issues. They said it wont fit, anyone know why off hand?? Worst case I can tell is maybe a power steering issue, but the kit can be ordered with out it .. Anyone know what I'm missing?? before I email that make and ask "whyyyyyyy??" thanks
Not sure why it wouldn't but if you can get your hands on used GN accessory setup you can go that route for sure. Thats what I did ( cost about $500 +/- ) when I was done. Looks good, functions well, and is WAYYYYY cheaper than the march setup.
The GN setup would be ideal for supercharger setups...it leaves the entire passenger side open for mounting. Then all you would have to do is work out the pulley setup from the charger to the crank ( maybe custom pulley at that location??? )
Ahh yes, I forgot about that route. I need all the accessories as why the March setup just seems so good, but it is a ton of $$. There any special modifications or year GN requirements I should be looking at when looking for the parts?
Nothing special to look for just needs to be from the 86-87 models and you'll need it all ( including the p/s pump and rezzy ). The guys over at turbobuicks.com will be able to help you out. Thats where I got my setup from.
