Cool, if that is an actual sbb 350 built for a boat those are rumored to have a cast iron front timing cover!

That would mean a whole lot less expansion in the oil pump area for more stable oil pressures from cold to hot.

Wouldn't add that much weight, what 10 maybe 25 lbs at the most more? A small price to pay for more stable oil pressures.

If the pump was setup with the aluminum specs of .002" clearance with less expansion, it would probably be good for 5W-20 with a hot idle of 20 or so psi? Would be fun to play with one to find out anyway if one fell in my lap. Otherwise I would seek out the later model v6 crank driven oil pump cover to adapt to a sbb 350.

Back in the winter, I bought A cast iron marine timing cover off eBay, but after receiving it the water passages for the water pump was different. I asked the seller for A refund, It was very cool, but couldn't use it.

I remember you and I discussing that cover awhile back.
To be honest, for marine use, Id prefer to stick to the tried and true Chevy engines, waaaaaaaaaaaay more common and available parts:D

Never knew they used sbb for marine. I know they used some 430s in jet boat setups

I believe that was OMC that used Buick, or Ford for power
