put the poncho in the trailer weeks ago as I needed the extra garage space to tear apart the W-31. The W-31 is now at the resto shop (along with one of the two parts cars). I have parts all over the garage, which I need to find space for so the poncho can come back out of the trailer to check things out to get it ready for Martin.

There will be 4 cars from central Indiana heading that way on Thursday. Really looking forward to it. I started the FASTRACES Facebook page in hopes it would bring more exposure to the group. We'll have to see.

John Brown On permanant vacation !!

Silver solder works for me on Holleys. Suspend the base in a tub of water to keep heat from getting past what you want to reattach.

Looks like the aftermarket throttle arm is thicker than the original, and doesan't have much slot engagement with the `repop throttle shaft. The screw is taking a lot of the load and loosens. Suppler tried Loc-Tite on the screw on another, and ended up seizing the shaft to the throttle body.m Changed to a star washer and tightened the crap out of it, will see if that holds. Meanwhile, new carb being overnighted just in case. Factory design is far superior with the shaft protruding through the lever (slightly thinner), but peened over for a positive fix.

Almost mooted the problem with a major gas leak at one of the carbs and filled the intake with fuel. Caught it before it ignited. Better up the insured value on this puppy again. Getting too old for this ****...........
