I have been toying with the idea of building a 74 GTO for PS for a few years, but couldn't ever find the *right* car. There is a one owner local car with manual trans that I have kept track of,but it needs restoration. It would be changed to auto trans for purpose build. I don't think it would be a slow PS car, especially if built with the new compression rule allowing 1.5 point of extra Compression. This was the last Pontiac built with a functional Shaker hood,I believe. Anyway,COOL! I look forward to seeing it run:TU:

Tom I am just poking fun mainly at Larry but also at Threefidee. These two were born with the '74 GTO gene and are and always will be true believers. And you have told me of your love for them in the past and Apollo's for that matter. I have that gene for the equally odd '73 GTO's and H/O Old's. For a '74 350 cid motor with low compression I agree they would be plenty quick to be more than fun as a PS car. I model them to run in the mid 13's on the computer. That is the heart of any PS field. Plus they likely would not need an ounce of race gas making them really freindly on the street. Larry's car with a completely untouched original motor, factory jetting and crimp bent rusted up old 2.0 inch exhuast made more torque than advertised and almost met the advertised hp at the rear wheels. A freind had installed his new chassis dyno and asked if he could put the car on it to test it out. Really amazing the type of power an unrebuilt car with no work made. Mark
