This is me *just barely* getting beat by Briz in the 1st round of B3 this year at the Nats.

Almost caught him! Couldn't launch hard on street tires, need some drag radials or slicks!

I filmed this in the pits just a few moments later.

Seriously though, that did look close. Good job.
Thanks for posting the vid. I missed most of the racing this year.

Briz definitely cuts a good light!

Smokey15 So old that I use AARP bolts.

You were freight-training for sure. Just ran out of real estate.

Briz beat you and his wipers weren't even working. Oh the shame.:D

What were the air conditions that day? Looked rainy, but what was the adjusted altitude?

Maybe if I wouldn't have loaned him a screwdriver so that he could park his wipers in the down position, the extra drag with them up might've slowed him down enough for me to catch him! ;) :D

It was cool out. No rain. 10/27/2018 about 5pm. I'm sure someone can find out somewhere online the atmospheric conditions, density altitude, etc. and figure out the specifics for the track at that time.

Looks like your reaction time is what cost you that race. :)

There is that, too. A little out of practice. Except for the 5 passes that I made down the track before that pass that weekend, it had been about 18 yrs since I'd been down the track. Not an excuse, but I don't think I did too bad considering I was on street tires. Plus, I wanted to be sure I didn't redlight or spin too much.

    Hey! I had fun though.

Watch out next year. I'll have me some stickier tires and different excuses then. :p

Possibly a different car, too. The 66 is more of a cruiser than a racer. The 3.08 gear is holding it back on the track, too.

Off the top of my head it was 59*, DA was around 400" with 91 grains of water in the air. The big variable was the head wind which I did not compensate for in the final. Flag was hanging and I didnt notice, ran a full 10th faster and broke out with a 14.33 Her fastest time ever was 13.79 at sea level and good air. Last yr I could barely get her out of the 15's.
