What pressure do you run, at the track? On the street?

P275/60R-15 on 15 X 8" Buick wheels. Car usually weighs 4050 lbs with me in it.

Been a number of years since I've been to the track but IIRC I always ran around 18psi there and around 28 on the street. My car is about 3,800lbs with me in it.

I always run about 18 psi hot at the track, never lower but sometimes a pound or two higher. On the road I run mid to high 20s.

Here is what the MT website says:

First year I ran my car with the TSP engine, I had trouble hooking. Ran low 12's spinning with 60' times 1.9-2.1. Started with 20 psi and kept dropping the pressures until I hooked around 16 psi. The rest of my runs were in the 11's. Replaced my lower control arms with Metco billet ones and that next year, I hooked every time still using 16 psi. Was just wondering if higher pressures lowered the rolling resistance and was beneficial if I could hook. I intend to run the car at Cecil this year. Curious to see what the TSP 9.5" converter is worth.

If you can set the front tire pressure to 40 - 45 pounds help with resistance are used to run M-H street tires 16-18 lbs.

That's easy, the Cooper Cobras are 44 psi max tires.

I dont have radials up front, but I can use pressure to help adjust light. If I find myself red by a touch I can drop psi some to slow the light down

Wish I had good news to report, but Cecil this year was somewhat of a frustrating experience for me. The good news is the car ran about the same. The bad news is I developed a leak from the Gear Vendors Overdrive pan. It was running off the back of the pan and getting on the exhaust and smoking. After three runs, one of the track officials approached me and told me I was dripping ATF, and to see what I could do about it. The pan gasket was leaking and there was no way for me to fix that at the track. The car has to be in the air. I also noticed some engine oil coming out of the weep hole in my converter inspection cover. I figured I better stop while I was ahead and I could still drive the car home. My best 60' was a 1.68, and it spun a little, just a bit, enough for me to feel. It went 11.67 @ 115.63. I could also tell the car was short shifting, like around 5000 where normally, it shifts where I set it for 5700-5800. I haven't used the Holley 1000 since 2015 when I last raced the car. It suddenly dawned on me that I forgot about the gas pedal downshift switch. The Holley throttle throw is way shorter than the QJ. When I put the Holley on, it doesn't depress the switch fully. What I do is put a piece of 3/8 and 5/8 hose onto the switch and then it works fine. I can tell you this, after putting the Holley on, I went to drive the car over to make a pass, and I just touched the gas and the car shot forward so quick I almost hit the garbage can in front of me. The lighter converter was really apparent with the Holley, just the weight of my foot moved the car briskly. I started off with 18 psi in the DR's, and went down to 17. It might have needed 16. In addition, the 60' lights weren't working on the first pass, and I didn't get a short time on the slip, but I knew it wasn't hooking solid. My last run, the best, I felt like it hooked decently, and that was the 1.68. It felt great to me, but it short shifted. To add to my troubles, the AFR was somewhere around 11.0 at WOT, so I was definitely rich as well. I guess Murphy's law reigned supreme for me. It was still fun to take the car down the track regardless. On the bright side, I had Ron Mooney and Bruno in the car along with my jack, tools, carburetors and what not for the trip home. Filled the tank at the hotel, and drove home. 170 miles door to door, and the gas gauge read a tick under 1/2 a tank. That's about as good as it gets fully loaded and driving 65-70 most of the way. I think this converter even does better with the GV.

I might try to run the car at Atco in November if it works out. I'll fix the GV leak and make sure I sort everything out. I know there is way more in the car than this.

You need to at least loosen front sway bar endlinks.
I do and more on pass side to help keep car square leaving.
Your car has god potential to go a bit faster.
You need to transfer weight and get it moving.

I do remove the links at the track, and yes, I know the car has way more in it. This year though, everything went wrong. Maybe this year.
