Hi all, I was wondering what the limit is to this before the intake manifold no longer fits. I'm debating whether I want to use cast pistons and mill to achieve 10:1 or buy custom forged pistons. I don't necessarily need to forged pistons. At the same time, I hate mill a ton of material from my engine.

    Anyone?

i did 35 thousands and would not go any more. not really the intake but the front h pipe that has the thermostat in it that bolts to the front of the heads that will give you problems.

The other important thing in regards to milling is that the finish is reflective it's so smooth!

Modern equipment has no problem doing this and even a old type wet stone miller when run on its slowest setting can produce this type of finish, but it takes near 45 minutes to make one pass so the shop may charge you more, but it's worth it!
