I just went on a trip to Pa. again and ran across some more Buicks at the yards. I also finally picked up Steve 2manybuick's GN gas tank from Gbodyparts.com in NC. A very interesting place and nice owner. I even hauled a '63 Vespa scooter back from Va. Cool little bike. First car is a '71 Centurion con. Looks like it was a really decent car before the windows got knocked out. When I get back there next weekend, the owner will have a price for me. Good parts car if anything.

And lastly, a '58 Special 2dr sedan,'74 Electra 2 dr , a very cool Coke cooler that if I had the room ,I would have loaded it. If it's still hanging around,I might make sure that I have the room! Dang Vespa scooter! And a sad looking '68 Cutlass convertible that I dragged back. The price was right.

Man, you look at that Centurion and wonder how it ever got there in the first place. It looks way too nice to be in a junk yard and looks pretty complete. It's a shame.

That is the original color for the Centurion. The body does have quite a bit of rustout on the outer panels. Good trunk floor, though. It is supposed to run and it was showing 73K miles. I should have the VIN and trim tag info next week.

    Are you going there again?
I need some parts from the Centurion,
and maybe out of the Electra.
Would you part them for me.
I´m sure will find a price that is ok for both of us.

    - Please check if one of both (Electra Centurion) has a Posi. I don´t mind about the gear ratio.
    - I would like to have the cruise control the Centurion has
    - the thermal fuse from the A/C compressor
    - and I need the protectiv body side moldings (both pieces you see on the driver side)

sometimes they are sad places though, when you see a car that just shouldn't have been there... :(

I agree, it does suck to see some really cool rides sitting in a tangle of weeds or a tree growing through the engine compartment. But those vehicles are organ donors. At the end of their lives they were able to give life to other vehicles and keep them going. Kind of a wierd analogy and a little deep considering we're talking about inanimate objects. I was born just before the gas crunch so I didn't get to experience the great time of the muscle car, so seeing them in a salvage yard kind of intrigues me. Trying to guess their history, what their owners did with them, how many races they won etc. Always enjoyable for me.

Can anyone take a guess as to how many Twilight Turquoise Centurion convertibles were made?

Only 3.56% of all 71 Centurion convertibles were painted this color!! And I want one sooo bad. Bummer this one is toast.

Yes, but having one that came from the factory as a TT car is what I want.

I just went to a 20 acre junkyard in Waycross,Ga today that is mostly old cars. Saw some Buicks in there but it was raining so only got a few generic pics. I did buy a 15" black Buick sport wheel with very little wear, but no hub or horn parts for $30. The place is a total mess with nothing organized. I'll go back on a better day and get some good pics to post. There were some Rivs, including a '65 parts car.
