Anyone experience a MSD billet distributor being too tight to fit in the timing cover? I have! ou: I prime my motor and found top dead center and get ready to install my new MSD billet distributor into the new TA cover and it is so tight it won't fit. so, I pull it back out and grab the caliper and it is OD of 1.283 and the ID of the TA cover is 1.279! So I call Mike at TA and he is very familiar with this and he even measures 3 other new covers off the shlf and all are between 1.78 and 1.79 ID. Sooooooo I am left with first calling MSD and talking to an engineer (which will probably go nowhere), taking it apart and taking it to my machinist and have him turn them down to fit, or get a piece of 400 grit sand paper after the shaft and sand it down to fit! And I thought I would have the wires on and wrap it up to go to dyno today! No such luck!
