    Hi all,
Well here is my project that I bought over the summer. Its a CA car and was built in Fremont, CA. I did a lot of work to get the car running over the summer. The car ran but had no power, leaked everywhere and was missing shocks in the front. I have found the blower motor is inop, speedometer is inop, fuel gage inop, battery leaking acid everywhere, front lights not working, no reverse lights, half brakes light inop, and the list goes on. I just put it into heated storage recently where I will continue to work on her and fix things as I go. Here is a few pics and will upload some more recent pics and give you my thoughts and ideas on what will be done. My body guys is already working on the front fenders at this point. Thanks and watch for more updates!

Was that an original bench seat car? The interior color is green and the seats are black and the console is either missing or was never there. (I figured it may be a bench car) My point is with a 4 speed and bench seat configuration the cool factor goes way up..

    Good luck,

    Mike

Kevin - I live in Brunswick probally pretty close to you.

Mike - You are correct that it was a bench seat car and a auto. The car originally also had a white top, no power anything,am radio, and the big accessory was a/c from the factory. The previous owner bought the car in CA and brought it to MD four years ago. He wanted to clone his 70 stage 1 that is a gold winner that could be driven. He swapped out all the auto components with correct manual ones. Including mounting buckets seats etc. I bought it from him at a pretty good price in July. I do have the dash, and just ripped it out is all. The real cool factor is its a sp code 350 with a 4 speed and from what I see not many on the road. Atleast its my cool factor.

Here are more of my thoughts since the original interior was green I decided that I want to keep it that way even thought switching everything to black would be a lot easier more than likely. But my long gone 1969 Riv also was green with green interior which I loved. So Green car with green interior just feels right to me. I can get dark green skins for the bucket seats from yearone and really hope they match up ok. The car is not going to get a frame off at this point and not sure if it ever will. I have a decent set of rally's with radial t/a's to throw on. The motor runs pretty strong now and the biggest thing will be getting the a/c working at some point. I have a correct time frame am/fm radio, a NOS GS grill, rally gauges to install, tach to install and various other part. I don't want to make this a long project so all the body work will be done over this winter and spring including suspension and mechancial and then i will take more time working on the interior after that. As long as I can drive her around some no rush for me on interior. Since its stored currently and body parts are just going to him I'm using this opportunity to fix suspension, gas tank, tranny issues or problems until I tow it back. Also own a 1970 455 motor that is complete but needs a rebuild. Thought about putting in this car but think I will hold off and look for a 67 gs or convert for that motor. This motor is stock and it sure runs strong so maybe a beef up for it down the road. Should have some pic's tonight to upload.

Here is a few pic's after putting some rally's on and getting her to run a little better. Drove her about an hour and half away to her resting place currently. After a few burnouts of course:TU: I redid the rally's myself and they are not perfect but driver quality and that is ok with me. I don't care to have a show car that I wouldn't drive so it will always be drivers for me. this car will be driven and probally HARD knowing me lol well will bring back the camera since I have the front fenders off now and put new springs and shocks nd post a few more.

George N gave me the lead on the car after I had him check out a different one. Well there is always surprises and this car is no different. Car really didn't seem to be maintained well from what I can tell. But I think I got the car at a fair price and really starting to love the car.

    Hi Louie,
Thanks and you do too!! I feel fortunate that I am able to store it at one of my clients shops in the back building of his business that is heated. Its heated and roomy. He has a 07 svt cobra in that building a 69 427 cobra as well. He has a rotis, sun equip analyzer, and a lift. very fortunate to use the facility. Next pic's will probally have my boat next to her LOL

This is the cool reason why I purchased this 71 GS 350 with 4sp, only option is GS package, power steering, am/fm with 8 track and factory painted black hard top with only 58k in 1985.

Thanks! My original thought was yes but now I have been leaning toward not and just painting her all the original color. So ask tomorrow and you might get a different answer LOL :Dou: I believe no top for now but down the road its very possible.

well here are the pic's since the fenders came of and went to my shop weeks ago. He said he will have some pic's of them as well for me. Things are going and tomorrow I will be replacing blower motor, start removing front control arm bushings, and all ball joints. Heck might even try to get a few new body bushings replaced as well.

    Hi All,
I will say control arms and bushing are a pain and glad I won't have to do them a lot. well here is the lowers off my car and they are junk. The uppers were more work than I ever would have thought to get out the old bushings. we heated and froze and pounded and you name it LOL Time to go order more parts!!! Fender pic's will be coming soon.

    Gary and George,

Great looking Skylarks....I love them in a Bench seat 4 Speed! Will take one over any Bucket seat car. Unless ofcourse its a GSX.

The painted top is a huge bonus too, Love it :TU:
