  8. Magnificent looking motor and car. Love the green engine paint. Always liked the way the nailheads looked like they were designed, not just engineered. :TU:

Looks like the same color paint that came on the little oddfires in Jeeps. Looking good! Nothing like a cleaned up engine bay.

sorry for the delay in my updates folks been swamped with work family and mother nature uggggh

working on the dynaflow rebuild. mother nature been kickin my butt..

everything is looking fairly straight forward with following the chasis book so far. i only have 1 thrust washer that i am not 1000% positive where it goes so i hope to find otu when it goes back together .. right now just working on the servos, pump, shaft etc assemblies.

not sure if i havent got to them yet or not but the snap rings look somewhat different in style (a couple of them) they arent the same size as no0thing i have used yet but was just curious as to why some of those rings are included in a master rebuild kit and some arent?

didnt know the bushings and bearings werent in the kit either :Dou: having a HUGE hard time finding them.... with as much as this thing was leaking i wanted to change all of them to make sure that wasnt the problem or something. they dont look "badly" worn so i dont know.

just pluggin along today and the weekend building a fire in the garage lol
thanks for all the replies and such i appreciate the input and opinions :TU:

This thing is really starting to come together. It is getting heavier as i go and im almost out of parts so i think im doin everything right thus far :TU:
heres more pics of the dynaflow goin together. (btw i did find the place of the mystery thrust washer from the tear down  )
should have everything put back on her today so i can start checkin out the torque converter. initial inspection looks to be in great shape i may get away with just a clean up and reinstallation. if thats the case i may end up with everything ready to put back in the beast today.

cant wait to get this thing back in the car!!
    enjoy!!

final pics.. trans back together .... will install converter tomorrow

should have er back in the beast this week :)

im guessing since i have everything in correctly the lack of the rear band lever moving up when i lift up on it is a normal thing?? i dont know.. the front band lever i can lift on and feel it squeezing the band.
but i was able to cover the shaft with a rag put trans in neutral and turn it with a pair of pliars without much effort so it isnt bound up ...
maybe im just worrying too much hopefully.

anyhow if anyone has ideas or things its ok let me know.
    thanks again

wound up takin trans back apart starting over. had front band in the rear and vica verca :Dou: glad i found it b4 i put back in car... ugggh would have been mounumental fubarim sure.
everythign works great now tho levers will allow for adjustment eetc.

converter back in everythign done deal. just need to adjest the band levers and mate it back to the nailhead :beers2:

i need to find the oem number for my trans mount.. i cannot figure out what im doing wrong or missing .. the mount matches the rear bearing housing holes but the studs sticking out of the rubber arent even close enough sticking apart to lign up to the small holes in the crossmember to bolt up:confused:
the mount they gave me at azone (and ones i seen on ebay ) are the same 2070 dea products mount. but im thinking it is for a 59 or pre that. because its only like 6" wide total. i need like 5" wide for the bolts to lign up in the housing... and around 8 or 9" wide total for the studs to lign up to the outer bolts on the cross.
idk what the frig i did with my old mount searched hi and low but that was liek months ago :Dou:
anyone knows what the oem number is or has a pic of the correct mount or measurements of it please post on here asap
    thanks for the help!

got the trans all back together and shes mated to the nailhead :) have to get the linkage straight b4 i can install the crossmember ( mount sent to SC for revulcanizing)

    lines routed etc etc etc
need to figure out how to get the bushing insert in the holder for the shift linkage ( on the plate thats bolted to the back of the high accumulator)

other than that... got a new stock 4gc for a steal at 100bux  figured ill rebuild the one i had and have a spare.

starting to look like a totally different car with just painted n cleaned up parts its way cool!!!:bglasses:

got the interior goin to the shop this week... getting ready to put the foam and jute down as well as the carpet next.

let me know what ya'll think
