Bought this car back in May. Was already in great shape. I've done some detailing and finally got out to a couple shows. Here is couple new pics.
Thanks for the comments. Yep I thought the combo was funny too. First time I've had a car with manual brakes. At first I was freaked out by them. Now I'm used to them. They work pretty good just gotta use a little leg. Might have a booster put on sometime but not necessary at this point. Since I've had the car I've changed the oil, bought and installed several missing rubber bumpers under hood and trunk, new cowl seal. The trans pan was leaking we replaced the gasket. Pan was pretty tweaked we straightened it but it still leaks. I bought and new pan and we'll take another crack at that soon. Also car had a mickey mouse exhaust literally held up with electrical wire. I had a custom shop build me a custom dual exhaust with MagnaFlow mufflers. Sounds great. Was a frame off resto that the guy sold before he was 100% finished. So a few little things to chase down. The radio does not work or the courtesy and dome lights. I'm pretty sure the wires aren't hooked up. I can see the orange and white wire disconnected under the dash. Now that its fall I will tackle that. Paint on the car is new and really nice as the previous owner was a paint/body guy. A little frustrated as he took a rotary buffer to it and just about burned all the way through on the trunk. Good thing it all on the lid so thats all I would need to have painted. Very fun car of course the question I always get is "what makes it a California GS". Hoping to get some redlines put on soon too. The V8Buick board has been great so far as i've rec'd lots of help from other members.
Such cars was all the time my dream. I consider it so cool to own such a piece of history, and some of them look even better than modern cars. Lucky you :Brow: :TU:
Thanks I took a little bit of a beating when I joined. Stirred up the is a Cali a 'real' GS or not debate. So far its been a fun car. Turns quite a few heads.
Says "GS" from the factory, but gets treated like a step child with ginger hair. Meh. To each his own, I like mine.
