Just got my aluminum radiator and my lincoln mark 8 fan today! Looks like it will be ready for saturday! :TU:
I payed $49 for it. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Cool...r_Truck_Parts_Accessories?hash=item4149781ae1
I ordered my lower control arms! I am going to work alot this winter on trying to get this car street legal. Since I can't drag race, I might as well go to the cruise night at least once.
Getting ready to go to Abilene for the last race of the season. Hopefully I can get a new best time now that I have the tubular lower control arms, and the electric fan. Anybody know how much hp it saves from not having to turn the mechanical fan?
I just got the fan from the same place you did. When you get a chance tell me how to wire this bad boy.
I'll get some pics for ya. and some information. You are going to need a relay. Here is what I used http://www.summitracing.com/parts/PRF-30103/
Here is what we did for the wiring. There are three wires coming out of the fan motor. The blue one is not used. (It is hooked up to the air conditioning) The black and orange wire splits off of two, you need to connect them both to power. The black is used for a ground. Make sure you hook it up to the frame. I should have taken a picture of the thermal sensor.
Thanks Eat lots of food and give thanks to all. I will have to look at mine closer. The only after market part you got was the following summit part? http://www.summitracing.com/parts/PRF-30103/
Tyler Interesting you seem to have a lot more room between the water pump pulley snout and the fan. Mine is touching. Wait Wait Wait I just checked your "muffler video clip" you posted. Did you fab up some clips and attach them to the core support? Thus cocking the radiator foward?
I am surprised that it won't fit with the radiator in the stock location. Do you have a long water pump shaft? I did not tweak it very much at all. I just wanted a little bit more of a gap between the radiator and the water pump, just in case.
No problem Dave. Now I need to make an aluminum cover for my ugly brackets. That way I can put my cool Buick sticker on there.
