Thanks! That 8.3 has a good 10 inches and 400lbs on my 5.9, I put some moog springs in it for a 3/4 ton gasser dodge. They work real well.. overall it does a great job! Sadly I @ant join everyone for the Nationals, I have a kiddo on the way and will make it more difficult with 3 than the 2 I currently have.

Appreciate it! I have a couple more cheapo mos to do to it and some trans parts coming, then I can wick it up to about 40 psi and fuel real hard, going for low 8's in the 1/8th, in a full weight car...then paint....

Still haven't got the paint yet! But i did put a compound turbo setup on it. Ran a best of 12.20 at 113.5 in the quarter.
Trying for a bit more on that number here shortly..
I did rebuild the Trans and have done things to sort out there.

But yesterday i gutted the interior. To get it looking nice again. Spent 1200 bucks on various interior pieces so far. Going to pick out fabric for seats on Wednesday. Have to fix the floor pans in the rear tomorrow. And drop seats off to shop...
Its going to look nice! Will get pics of it done and while doing. I also put fat mat sound dampener on ceiling of car. What an amazing difference. I Dvn going to to the rest of the car after floor is fixed. You guys definitely should do it while your interior if out! It is so much cooler in the sun. Will keep it going!

Got the floor pan repair done yesterday, started on the sound deadening and finished it today.
I used fat mat rattletrap. Very good stuff, easy to use and fairly cheap. 100sq ft is 200 bucks shipped with a roller and knife
Then i got the carpet laid in. Essex black molded.. Very very nice. Cut out and Ready to glue and touch up the edges. Going to clean and dye interior panels tomorrow. And reinstall Saturday with the headliner.
I am tired! Btw my phone was dead do i didn't get any pics today... I will get some of the carpet tomorrow...

Cool! Is the sound stuff heavy?

2 rolls weigh about 35 pounds. Maybe a tad more. New carpet weighs 25 or so.
I took out so much more weight than that in tar board, jute and wet carpet. Probably 110 lbs of crap..
So all told its way less heavy!

With the door panels on and carpet in, it is super quiet and solid sounding in the car. I love it! Completely worth doing if you ever pull seats and carpet!

    Any new pics?

We have the interior out so the cro mo roll cage could be welded in... Now all that is done so it is time to make this street car look good again! Then we just need to get the forged internal engine put in, th400 built for 1200 HP, and the Moser 12 bolt. Ordered the carpet and strongly considering this "fat mat rattletrap".

Do it! You won't be disappointed with the ease of install and what it does for sound! I am now a huge fan. I had my door panel pictures in the arm rest repair thread in interior city..
But its now finished inside and i can tell you its worse than getting a new car, trying to get kiddos in and out without ruining anything!(not knowing what will ruin something)
I did order a new intercooler and associated piping to fab up.. It is a downflow style offered for a mustang.
And one of these http://4xspower.com/shop/d-series/d6500/ So i don't have an issue if i run our of fuel trying to get it started!

turbos are the only way to fly!! and a lot easier to play with than i could have imagined. that thing will be a blast!!
    remember what they say...;
"its not turbo lag, its foreplay!"

You are right, any delay in power MIGHT give the chassis enough time to hook!

If it hooks it had a better chance of breaking.. Plus its more fun to take people for rides when you don't have an"ohs#$t" handle!

I think it should be fun!

After a couple months work, got a new intercooler and Trans cooler and fans on the beast.
    This last weekend on an 80 degree day i went 11.97 at 115! With a 7.63 at 93 1/8th..
Man i am loving this thing! I have a larger primary turbo coming soon (76mm up from 71) and i think i will almost be in cage territory!

What an amazing job! Definitely looks like the 24v belongs in there from the factory. Would love to do the same to my 72 riviera. How did you locate the engine and trans? And at 27 mpg you're doing a lot better than my 14 LOL. Wonder what the 4bt would get.

  19. 1drwgn

    1drwgn Poor Gearhead

The 4bt would definitely take some throttle to move the car, the math says it takes x amount of fuel to make 1 hp.. so they should get the same economy at speed requiring the same hp to drive that speed...

that being said, i found a wrecked truck sitting in a field, and knocked on the door. made a deal and picked it up that weekend.

So i made my best 1/8th pass to date. 7.63 at 93mph, with a1.79 60' have some wastegate work to do,i think it can get to the 7.40's pretty easily... Should line me out for cage territory in the quarter.
In a 5400lb car running a 359cid "small block" without nitrous...
I think its not too bad! Next step, bigger injection pump!
