bought it that way(1975 park avenue with auto climate control). the other day i decided to hook up the compressor . the clutch engages the termal limiter started to smoke so I guess there is no freon in the system. the question i have is how does one know when a v.i.r assembly is bad? I can figure out what most everything else does when It is bad. I want the a/c working so I can go car show in concord thanks
