My GS is in this month's PHR. Editor johnny Hunkins saw the car at the Fort Worth spring Good Guys, and wanted to shoot it. Tri Shield's polishing process abounds in the engine bay.

Congratulations Jeff! As someone who has had the fortune of a vehicle article in magazines. It is great personal satisfaction when your work hits this kind of milestone. Show awards are a nice way to get appreciation for your work, but I believe this is a bigger moment that is shared by many that helped and supported the project.

    Nice build

Also wondering if you build that center console or pulled it from another car? If from another car, what did you get it from?

How do you like your EZ-EFI? (Re: My GS in Popular Hot Rodding)

Dear Jeff and V-8 Buick members,

Golly, your car is so purdy!! :TU:

However, cars do not succeed based on looks alone and . . . . .

I couldn't help noticing that you have an EZ-EFI throttle-body on top of that beautiful Buick big-block. So don't be bashful - how do you like it?

Since I'm about to get one of my own - I'm very curious! :idea2:

    Cheers, Edouard :beer

That is way clean. I'm jealous, especially of the under hood aesthetics.

Thanks for all the positive feedback guys. It has been a bit of a dream come true to have a car featured in a magazine. It was actually in PHR 4 months in a row. First time, it was the subject of Hunkins' monthly editorial in the front of the mag, with a pic of him kneeling down by the front of the engine bay. Then two months in a row of smll pictures from Good Guys autocrosses, one from Ft. Worth, one from Nashville. Then the feature.
    To answer a few questions.......
The console is aftermarket from Classic Consoles, and has been a nice addition to the car.
The A/C bracket was custom made for the Sanden compressor to fit the BBB by a local shop called Tyre's Automotive. In fact, they custom mounted an aftermarket condensor and dryer, and neatly integrated it all into the factory wiring and firewall connections. With all of the aftermarket stuff in the engine bay, and hated to see the big honking factory A/C compressor hanging there. I was also trying to keep weight off the front of the car for handling improvements.
The EZ-EFI has been another great addition to the car. I would do it all over again, with one change. I purchased the master kit, which has all fuel lines and pump, etc. If doing it over again, I would scratch build the fuel lines with Teflon lined braided hoses (fuel smell in the garage), and get an electric pump from another company (have heard of lots of failures w/ the included pump). The tunability and driveability of the EFI is awesome. If you price up a nice Ultra HP Holley carb, fuel pump, etc, the EZ-EFI is not too much more money.

Sweet Ride :TU: Congrats on the magazine :TU:

I realy like what you did with your water and oil gauge.

I'm going to mount a gauge there also, I'm just wondering how you did it ???

It looks like you made a mounting plate, and you must have opened up the space behind the gauges.

How did you mount the plate ???

Again sweet ride and congrats :TU:

Thank for the EZ-EFI info (Re: My GS in Popular Hot Rodding)

Thanks Jeff for the sharing all this!

Thanks for reassuring me on my scheme! I'm going to go with new tank and integral EFI pump from Spectra, so I was already going in the right direction on this one. My instinct was that the price different isn't that much more but it is very reassuring when someone has installed all the hardware and still thinks that way!!

    Thanks again! :TU:

Were you at Cruzing the Coast last year?
A car that looked an awful lot like yours was parked across from us at Ocean Springs.
    One sharp looking car!
