Keying on my typo , sorry I am not as perfect as others may think they are:rolleyes:

Still waiting for an answer to my question: Why is BLM not focusing on the 100's of black homicides that occur ever month/week at the hands of their community?
I think this is a fair question to ask.

Sticking with the National Anthem theme. One of my all time favorites is when Whitney Houston sang it at the Super Bowl. Her skin color did not even cross my mind as it shouldn't. Rosanne Barr was the worst.

I wouldn't expect BLM to solve the world's problems overnight. Trying to marginalize it by pointing out everything thats wrong ain't helping much either.

Cause they want to tear statues down. cause they want to burn, cause the want to loot, cause they want to spray garffiti, cause they want to burn down Federal buildings, and on and on. PEACEFUL protests for a cause are good. Anarchy is not.

My whole life. New York metro area. Look forward to running out of here if I get a chance to semi retire in some years. Heading to no snow winters and race tracks.

Sorry, but I wouldn't expect it to solve the world's problems EVER.

Do you subscribe to this statement on their website?

We know that police don’t keep us safe — and as long as we continue to pump money into our corrupt criminal justice system at the expense of housing, health, and education investments — we will never be truly safe.

Marginalize it...lol... What is "it" that I marginalized? The facts and numbers don't support "it" if we are thinking of the same thing. Cherry picking does not count.

BLM or their supporters do not even talk about the violence that happens every day within their community by their own people. Imagine what they could do starting in Chicago. Instead of tearing down statues and holding city blocks hostage, work within your own community.
If you start with the biggest problem, you would be amazed at how the other problems start to decrease also. No one is pointing out the major problems and that is what is not helping. When you do bring it up and it is marginalized by them! Its funny, our local news has at least 2 reports every night about a murder or violence in the city amongst the black community and then moves on to focus on the protests to defund the police.

Again, Why are the BLM not focusing on the systemic issues within their own community that are taking the most lives including children? Let me help with the answer, its because there is no one else to blame for it.

If your roof was leaking would you focus your energy on fixing the cracked floor tile first?

I bet the mods are getting an itchy trigger finger to shut this one down. Lets keep the dialog going and keep it civil. I would really like to understand the thinking of the left leaning supporters of the current situation.

Back to the National Anthem (kind of) Has the song God Bless America been canceled yet?

I am unsure how to answer that without getting even more political, but BLM aint the only group out there that has become numb to / failed to solve that issue. No one has succeeded. Like poverty, some things seem intransigent. Cops killing people seems a little easier to fix.

Not trying to key on your typo, just explaining, as some may have missed the joke. No offense intended, just trying to make it clear to others hat I have no issues with the Pledge of Allegiance itself.

My good friend spellcheck / autofill has led me / probably all of us badly astray in the past too.

(Hey, At least I noticed when some joker substituted ***hole for my boss's name in AutoCorrect many years ago...)

Gosh, can't remember the last time I said the Pledge. 40 years ago? The National Anthem-- all the time, what with kids in sports etc.

The movement is in it's infancy. At the moment its disorganized chaos for sure. IF they can get organized and raise good money then maybe they can in fact make a real difference. I can't predict that, only time will tell. I don't understand why folks are so adverse to it. Let BLM run it's course. Maybe it'll peter it out, or maybe it'll amount to something more.

So now all you guys stand up and practice.

Since we have some here that had to go to some bad places to fight for us.

    NOT AT ALL

So stand up and Salute those guys!!

The problem is who gets to set the standard of righteousness? Everyone holds different beliefs even if we grow up in the same environment. The educators have done a great job at dumbing down society to the point the last two generations can no longer think for themselves and have developed a "Lord Of The Flies"/"Gang" mentality. That ideology is the new religion. If this isn't stopped soon we will usher in the next dark ages of anarchy rule. There will be no winners; none!

    Capitalism, pure and simple.

Yep, capitalism. For all its flaws it’s still the best way to motivate workers and reward innovators. It also will (eventually) self correct. When the franchises and owners can’t sell tickets or video rights for big money, they’ll make changes. When a change works (such as not putting up with crap and/or paying less) it’ll get copied.

That is exactly why we are so adverse to the movement.

At the very least it could lead to reparations, more socialism, racial discourse, and further division. At the worst, it could lead to anarchy as it seems as though the two idealogies have dovetailed.

If one of the goals was to raise awareness, I think we can all agree we are well passed that.

    What "difference" do you envision?

I had 4 black news anchors (2 national followed by 2 local) tell me all about systemic racism the other morning. Is that some kind of joke?

There is plenty of opportunity out there, and class may well play a large part, but I am not convinced what-so-ever race plays any part in moving forward in our nation at this point and time.

I am quite concerned that a large group of Americans may never be content, no matter what concessions they may receive.
