So, judging from yikes, you've passed judgment on me. Perhaps you're even ready to label me? I don’t really expect a reasonable response since I didn't get one for 110, 120, or 123.

    History lesson:

    1865. End of "civil" war

    1964. Johnson's Great Society

    1965. Riots

    1992. Riots

    2008. Obama elected

    2014. Riots

    2020. Riots

    2065. Rainbows and butterflies...

    Come on man!

The yikes was in regard to the doomsday type scenario you painted. Not sure why you're trying to be a victim here.

I imagine this is the most chaotic moments since the Vietnam War. Since my formative years were after the war, I have no basis of comparison.

As I mentioned many posts ago, why does anyone care how someone else pays tribute to the flag? When I'm saluting, I'm not focused on anywhere else but up high.

If someone feels the values of the flag are not being upheld, it seems today's etiquette is to kneel. Does that piss you off?

If so, then I'll ask: Why aren't you pissed off by the police brutality being alleged? The institutional racism?

I was sold some song and dance in school that told me about how great America is and the promise for freedom in many forms. But the reality is that, as much as we try, we fall short. We didn't need a football player or a dead MN resident to point this out.

So whatcha gonna do to help fulfill America's promise?

I'm not a fan of BLM because they hold up some as martyrs (like Michael Brown) who were killed by police after criminal activity and violent behavior. But their purpose is a no-brainer: to fight against police brutality. The shootings in Chicago are a red herring to their purpose (and, I might add, Chicago black-on-black crime has been a topic in the media and Internet forums for a decade or more--it was not elevated by the president to become the flavor-of-the-day).

Unfortunately, everything has been politicized these days, and it's our responsibility to remain objective without the outside influences that encourage the entropy that we currently experience. I have little patience for people who get offended over the type of energy thrown at a piece of cloth but are alright at maintaining the disorder of our country.

Because becoming a victim is so in vogue. But alas, I am but a wanna be.

Given our past racial history, the current call to "resist", and the defund police movement, what's you're 2065 prediction?

Remember, no peace, no rest :D

    That's easy! :)

Break glass, spit on cops, block streets and highways, spread Covid, burn, loot, demand this, that, and the other thing, make sure my 3 percent gets 50 percent of the media attention, rename the Army base, the high school, and the city of Columbus.

    Turn criminals into martyrs.

    Rappers into political activists.

Twist award shows and sporting events into the least entertaining thing on television, elect socialists, pull down some statues, add some letters to the city pavement you can see from space, graffiti everything, Chaz or Chop the place up a bit.

Attempt the overthrow of a legally elected President, wear white suites to his State-of-the-Union address, don't clap for heros.

Above all, get that lady off the pancake box and change the color of band-aids.

Creating all this positive change sure makes it hard to hold down a, you know, the thing man.

    Come on man! :p

How much more money do we need to keep throwing at a group of people to fix the problem of them not succeeding. You cannot blame it on systematic racism. As an individual you need to truly want to succeed and it can be done, there are many, many examples.

Trump is a racist, here is proof:rolleyes:
President Donald Trump signed a bipartisan bill that will permanently provide more than $250 million a year to the nation’s historically black colleges and universities, along with dozens of other institutions that serve large shares of minority students.

Here is where the money is going, these are the 20 best HBU's per this review:
https://www.bestcolleges.com/features/top-historically-black-colleges/#:~:text=What Are The Best Historically Black Colleges? ,Cost: $$$$$ Graduation Rate: 75%

The highest graduation rate is 62% (not bad) the lowest is 19%. Out of the 25 HBU's listed, the average grad rate is 38%.
Is this due to systematic racism? police brutality? If not, then why?
The university my son attends has a 76% graduation rate that that includes all races. (Black 72.5% and White 72.8%). The president did not direct any funding to my sons university.
If the HBU's are so bad why to do they continue to be funded? (this applies to any university receiving taxpayer money). If you stop funding them, it would be called racism and not just good business sense.

I would still like to see examples of systemic racism. Would that be the lack of number of scholarships available to straight white male students? How about BET (Black entertainment network), NAACP, Black Music Honors, Black Film Festival and the list goes on. Substitute "white" in place of "Black" and everyone screams racism. Some will say the Country Music Awards are no different, its just for white people. Well, its not called the White Country Music Awards. Seems like everyone can be proud of their race except for the white devil. ( I really don't want or need any white only anything's).

I also want to see factual examples of the current POTUS passing racist, Islamophobic and homophobic policies. What are they?

I do not condone police brutality or any type of violence against anyone but to key on racism as the only cause of any police brutality is not going to solve anything. Why are there so many encounters between the police and the BLM community, why do most of the encounters involve someone with a history of crime? Almost every one of the martyrs for BLM had a criminal background including violet crimes (George Floyd held a gun to a pregnant woman's belly during a home invasion at one time). That is not just making a bad decision at one time, that is pure evil. How about not cherry picking certain incidents and instead reporting on all encounters with police and list how many officers loose their life to criminals (black and white).

I can't say I get "upset" when someone disrespects the flag but it does piss me off. I am having a hard time accepting the reason for the current kneeling due to the lack of ownership for the huge problems within their own community that causes many of the issues they are protesting about.

I know this post is all over the place but it all ties into many issues that feed into our current situation. Unfortunately our media chooses not to ask real questions or report on any of this.

"I would still like to see examples of systemic racism."

    Really?

A great video on line is of some speaker at a college asking an auditorium full of white kids, knowing what they do about how society treats blacks and whites, to please raise their hands if they would rather be black than white.

Needless to say, no one raised a hand. Nobody. And that says a lot.

Racism does not have to be murder at the hands (or knees) of a cop.

Racism is like death by a thousand cuts --
a lot of petty discrimination on a daily basis that adds up over time.

    Example?
We had a haitian kid just about grow up in our house. Spent half his nights with us from age 10 to 20. Calls my wife mom. (His actual mom was a lazy loser who thought he should sell drugs like his brothers). We consider him family.

So my wife Kelley agrees to buy some gravel for a driveway at a rental property off a guy who was about to pave his gravel driveway and needed the gravel gone. Takes Albert, drops him to shovel gravel into bins, runs off for 5 minutes to do an errand, comes back. In the meantime, some busybody calls the cops to say a black man is stealing gravel.

    (note: stealing GRAVEL? Really?)

5 cop cars come flying up, thankfully just as my wife gets back. Albert says he thought " Cops -- oh sh -- wait a minute, Kelley is here." Kelley gets the owner on the phone, all explained, cops leave. Albert turns to Kelley and says "See? Now you know what its like being black."

Oh you can dismiss it, but the simple fact is: no way ANYONE calls the cops on my tall white ass in the same circumstances. No way whatsoever.

Repeat 1,000 times over the years. See how you feel.

When did Albert move back to the 95 percent black Haiti to escape the horror of racism in the United States of America?

So many examples yet I am fairly sure you've shared this same misunderstanding with us at least once before...

I am glad Albert had you and Kelley to guide him away from trouble. You are to be applauded!

We, as a nation, have made tremendous strides, but it certainly seems to have fallen FAR short of some folks expectations. That is what concerns me...being a car guy you maybe familiar with the term over correction?

Why haven't all the whites in the US who complain about Antifa moved to Haiti where there is no Antifa?

Both questions are equally valid and equally stupid.

My father told while I was growing up there is no such thing as a stupid question.

From your response one can deduce racism and Antifa are both relatively small problems at this point and time.

Thanks. Thats about what I figured.
