I can't seem to find the following paints in aerosol cans: Red paint for my 71 GS engine Clear semi-gloss or satin hi-temp paint (NOT FULL GLOSS) Any ideas guys? o No:
Dupli Color DH-1608 Red Sold in the Zone, and other auto parts stores - good to 1200* There is a clear that goes with it, so if you want to shine the valve covers...
The semi/clear satin is for my ram air cleaner I am restoring. I need to spray the fiberglass parts as they get very dull after sanding. I am not sure if I should just use regular satin clear or not. I really don't want to redo the whole thing again (lots of work!)
Not sure if I do, but I was reading Steven Dove's book where he restored one, and that's what he used. I guess if the air cleaner gets hot enough to hurt regular paint, I have some issues don't I?
I've used spray bombs on my air cleaner assemblies (the metal part) and nothing ever happens. I usually buy the DupliColor brand stuff though. None of the hi temp stuff unless I'm painting the engine itself.
Derek, I will be talking to a paint jobber tomorrow on a few other things and I will see what they know of for a satin clear in aerosol. Tim
